Hi Lunss,

I'd like to design a reception dress for my wedding in November. My vision is a sleeveless, illusion neckline a-line dress with floral appliques and sparkly, soft tulle. For the front, a structured bodice, slight sweetheart neckline with floral appliques like the Amsale Kimpton dress (image 4). Unlike the Kimpton dress, I don't want the visible boning. For the back, the same flowers as on the Kimpton dress (image 2) but with a deeper plunge back like image 5 For the skirt, a very light soft tulle, like in image 3. The whole dress in a soft white material, but covered with gold and white glitter like in the Marchesa Notte Glitter Tulle Sweetheart Illusion Gown (images 1, 6, 7, 10, 11). However, I want the gold glitter sprinkled around, not in flower shapes.

Gorgeous well-constructed dress

The dress was made exactly as specified, with the 3D floral and embroidery looking even better than I expected! Bodice was well lined with built-in cups and boning. Skirt was a good weight and I'm very happy that Tansy suggested adding the glitter fabric to add the sparkle!

The customization process went smoothly. Even though Lunss didn't have the exact lace I'd wanted, Tansy did a great job of suggesting alternatives. After the first time the dress was completed, I pointed out changes I wanted to make and I'm very happy with how they addressed my requests.

The only 2 things that I wasn't excited about in the end was that (1) there was a slight difference in color between the bodice and skirt and (2) the glitter in the glitter fabric was getting everywhere. The color discrepancy was something I spotted in the post-production photos but it was not noticeable in the final photos, I also think it's not super noticeable in person unless you're paying close attention. The glitter I'm hoping will go away in time!

- Dress Design

The new wedding dress will be custom-made with below details as you required.

For the front, a structured bodice, slight sweetheart neckline with floral appliques like the Amsale Kimpton dress. Unlike the Kimpton dress, I don't want the visible boning.
-Sleeveless illusion neckline structured bodice like in picture 4 with invisible boning.
For the back, the same flowers as on the Kimpton dress (image 2) but with a deeper plunge back like image 5.
-We do not have same 3Dfloral lace appliques, and we will find other floral fabric to replace the original one.
For the skirt, a very light soft tulle, like in image 3.
- It is an A-line floor length skirt.
The whole dress in a soft white material, but covered with gold and white glitter like in the Marchesa Notte Glitter Tulle Sweetheart Illusion Gown (images 1, 6, 7, 10, 11). However, I want the gold glitter sprinkled around, not in flower shapes.
-If you want the dress to be glitter under the light, there are 2 ways to finish it.
1. Add glitter tulle underneath

2. Add glitter fabric underneath (it is heavier but more sparkly than glitter tulle.)

The gold embroidered organza is lovely! I would still like tulle in the skirt though. What do you recommend for tulle in combination with the organza? Should we do tulle in the underneath layers and organza over it or organza first and tulle over it? If we can't do organza and tulle together, then my preference is to just do the tulle.

I'll be sure to do the measurements as well!

We advise gold embroidery organza fabric as overlay, then two layers of soft tulle, then white glitter fabric with lining underneath to finish the skirt.

I stitched the Amsale top with the Marchesa Notte bottom and I'm not sure I like the color contrast between the top and the bottom. Maybe it will look better if the bodice has a champagne liner. What do you think? Or should I just skip the gold glitter organza layer if I don't like the color constrast?

In my opinion, champagne lining for both bodice and skirt is better than white bodice and champagne skirt, if you want a color contrast.

Please kindly check below options, and let me know your thoughts.

1. Tulle skirt without gold embroidery fabric.
The bodice will be made with adding beads and sequins, instead of glitter fabric. Because glitter fabric is thicker and heavier. If it is used for creating the dress, the dress might look cheaper.
The dress will be in pastel white color if it is made without gold embroidery fabric.

2. Tulle skirt with gold embroidery fabric.
We advise to use gold embroidery fabric to create the dress instead of glitter fabric. We will add beads and sequins on the bodice to add sparkles.

Thanks for the update! The dress does look great :) Based on the sketch, I think it's a good idea to make the skirt without the glitter fabric. Also in the sketch, it looks like there will be big circles above the neckline. I wanted to make sure that the detail above the neckline will be more delicate: small flowers and the really small flecks (they look kind of like dandelion seeds in the Amsale picture).

Thanks for the photos! The dress looks gorgeous :D A couple things I've noticed:

1. It's hard to describe but the bodice looks like it's a bit lumpy/the fabric is too thick. I've attached a picture of the part I mean.

2. The bodice and skirt are slightly different color. It's not very noticeable in the far picture but it's definitely noticeable closer.

3. The space between the shoulder and neckline looks too small. I have a fairly long chest area so I'm worried it'll look too high up.

4. The sweetheart neckline is not as rounded as in picture 9, I wanted the dip to be slightly deeper.

Let's confirm problems you mentioned one by one.

-Could you please clarify it more? I do not understand what you mean. Thank you!

2. The bodice and skirt are slightly different color. It's not very noticeable in the far picture but it's definitely noticeable closer.

-Yes, bodice and skirt exist light color difference due to the different textures of fabrics. The skirt has white glitter fabric inside, it is more white than normal fabrics and it makes the skirt look more white. we will check how to to minish the color difference.

3. The space between the shoulder and neckline looks too small. I have a fairly long chest area so I'm worried it'll look too high up.

-It depends on the breast height you provided. It is 6.25 inch from shoulder seam to highest point of sweetheart neck.

-This dress is made to your exact measurements. Your size is different to our mannequin's size. This dress will look better on you than on our mannequin. If you still feel it too short, please provide the measurement from shoulder seam to highest point of sweetheart neck. We could alter it for you.

4. The sweetheart neckline is not as rounded as in picture 9, I wanted the dip to be slightly deeper.

-It is around 5.75 inch from hollow( center of your collar bone) to dip of sweetheart neck. If you want it deeper, please advise measurement from hollow( center of your collar bone) to dip of sweetheart neck.

-I am sorry that the picture does not show the sweetheart neckline perfectly. I take a picture to show the inside of this wedding dress. Please check it.

- I am sorry that it may created by hand-sewn beads, sequins and flowers, etc. I mean when we added beads, sequins, flowers, etc on the tulle causing tulle smaller, which making the satin underneath a bit bigger. We will alter the bodice for you so that there is no crease/fold.

- Since we will alter the bodice. How about we add a layer of glitter fabric on bodice too, so that entire dress will be glitter and in the same color shade?

- The lining which is under tulle is even. You feel it uneven may because of the angles of picture-shooting.

Also, if it's not too late, I'd love to get the floral detailing extending down into the skirt more rather than stopping at the waistline.
-We can add flowers to decorate the top of skirt. Extra 50 USD is needed. Please let me know your thoughts.

Your dress is very beautiful. We all love it. We do not advise to change anything. We do not think your dress is too sparkly, because we made too many wedding dresses which are more sparkly.

This dress has a layer of glitter fabric under tulle fabric. If you do not want it so sparkly, you can have local tailor to remove glitter fabric from bodice. Or you can send it back for us to alter and you only need to cover the double shipping fee and alteration fee.

But we really do not advise to make any alterations.
